Day 12 : 10/02/01 

So this morning we were really really tired and once again we overslept. Not only we overslept for our own time zone, but as we changed time zone when we entered Montana, it was even 1 hour latter!

So we took the direction of Yellowstone. We ... I should say David as I do not really want to drive in Montana anymore (see details on day 11 .. :-) ). So after a little 200 miles drive, we finaly made it there.

The park is the first National park (in ze world of course) and is quite different from the others. First it is really hudge (way bigger than what I expected) and then the headquarters are like a little town. The patk itself is probably as big as a french department or a country like switzerland.

Today no hikes because of david's foot and because I'm sooo tired! So we just drove around. Well unfortunatly one of the roads of the park is closed (the one we were supposed to take of course) and we had to do a 80 miles detour in the park to get to our Hotel in West Yellowstone (it's not even a Motel6 !!!).

I really was expecting more colors, but as it's fall and it hasn't rained for probably more than 6 month everything is yellow and dry, there even are fires in the park right now to get to our Hotel in West Yellowstone (it's not even a Motel6 !!!).

This morning I looked at the weather for rapid city, SD to know if we would get there or not and accuweather said the weather would be great, weather.com said it would rain and Yahoo said we would have some snow (even with a temperature of 18 celcius!!). So what shall I think?

Anyway tonight rest, tomorrow rest and maybe a little hike the day after and the next one in Teton National park.
