Day 2 : 9/22/01 

As you should do on every saturday, we just slept in!! Well 9 AM everybody was up... well almost... That's a full 6 hours of sleep!

Well at 9 AM the weather was alreay killing hot.

As we went to Denny's the night before, we had to visit the other attractions of this town and went to ... Mc Donald to have breakfast. NO COMMENT!!

So we just left for Lassen Volcanic National Park at 10:30 and made it there around 1. This really is a very beatiful place, We did a little 3 hours hike, going around 3 lakes and sleeping for a good half hour at the last one.

Weather is still nice and the mountains/countryside are beautiful. After that we found a campground (no flushing toilets, no shower, almost no water) and went out for dinner. We had dinner in Mineral,CA , nice little town 8 miles from the south west entrance of the park. Population 90!

So we went to have dinner at the Restaurant/Bar/Motel/gift shop/grocery store. We had to eat outside as a wedding was taking place in the restaurant.

Interesting wedding ... almost everyone was wearing cowboy hats and boots and country music was the only kind that seemed to be allowed. They even danced on a country kind of walz.

Anyway, this is so different from silicon valley, people are friendly, they talk to you even if you do not know them and they do not have this fake smile every checker at safeway seems to have!

So we had a Mountain Burger ... well in case you were wondering what that is, it's a lodge burger with cheese. A lodge burger? Well it's no more than a regular burger but it's called lodge burger that's all.

So on the way back we saw probably half a dozen deers. They probably come out at night when no one's here anymore.

10 PM ... Bed time.
